Truth must be told at its vintage point: It is known that there are three tribes that made up old Benin Kingdom, now Edo State: (the Benins, the Esans, and the Afemais). Since the inception of the Fourth Republic in 1999, the Benins and Afemais have been at the corridors of power, producing the governor of Edo State for fifteen (15) years plus, and eight (8) years respectively. Meanwhile, the Esans, while supporting the Benins and Afemais over the years, are yet to taste the corridors of power in Edo State. However, for the sake of equity, justice and fairness, it is important at this point in time as we approach 2024 guber election, to come with clean hands into equity by enabling the Esans present and produce the next Governor of Edo state.
We must face the reality that Esan people play a big role in building the economy of Edo state and must without any further deliberations, be allowed to rule this time around. Period! The Esans have capable hands, one of which is Engr. (Hon.) Gideon Obhakhan.
Indeed, Engr. (Hon.) Gideon Obhakhan is a complete package; most qualified and responsible. He is the one that is fit to lead Edo state into greatness come 2024.
He is a person who has a very large and detailed knowledge of a diverse array of facts and blueprints on how to move the state forward.
Let us call a spade a spade! Who among many aspirants can stand his immeasurable well of wisdom, productive thoughts, and modernize prerogatives?
We have confidence that the APC February 2024 guber primary election will favour him; September election will usher him in and that Osadebay Avenue is already waiting for him to give his inaugural speech as the next Governor of Edo State from November, 2024.
