Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill, the official Undiluted and Undisputed spokesman of His Excellency, Governor Prince Bassey Otu, has expressed delight over what he described as one of the most remarkable grassroots empowerment initiatives in the history of Cross River State. Speaking at the Cross River State Government House, Calabar, Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill further revealed that the councillors also receive close to ₦1 million every month in addition to the revenues and benefits attached to their offices. He stated that Governor Otu’s administration continues to place people at the center of governance, ensuring that those entrusted with serving the public are adequately supported to deliver democratic dividends to their communities.
Pastor Bill described Governor Bassey Otu as a compassionate leader whose “People First” agenda is producing visible results across the state. He noted that the governor does not believe in enjoying progress alone but is committed to carrying others along. According to him, the empowerment of councillors is another proof that Governor Otu’s promises are backed by practical actions that directly impact the lives of the people.
The governor’s spokesman also called on the councillors to make good use of the opportunity given to them. He urged them to invest wisely, avoid wasteful spending, and extend support to the people in their various wards and local government areas. Pastor Bill emphasized that Governor Otu has played his part by empowering them, and it is now their responsibility to pay their dues to the grassroots by promoting development, supporting the less privileged, and ensuring that the benefits of governance are felt by all.
