Politics is at its best when leaders place the collective interest above personal ambition. Today’s resolution of the APC Senate candidacy in Cross River Central Senatorial District is a commendable demonstration of maturity, sacrifice, and respect for party supremacy.
I congratulate Hon. Oden Ewa and Sen. Eteng Jonah Williams for choosing unity over division and stability over prolonged political disputes. By accepting the intervention of His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, and ensuring the withdrawal of all pending court cases, they have sent a powerful message that the strength of our party lies in our ability to resolve differences with wisdom and mutual respect.
Equally worthy of commendation is Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, whose appeal for all supporters to unite behind the party’s candidate reflects the true spirit of progressive politics. Democracy flourishes when leaders are willing to make difficult decisions for the greater good.
As members and supporters of the APC, this is the time to close ranks, put aside every disagreement, and channel our energy toward delivering victory for our great party. Elections are won through unity, discipline, and a shared commitment to the people.
History will remember those who chose peace over conflict, cooperation over confrontation, and the future of Cross River State above personal interests.
Congratulations to Hon. Oden Ewa and Sen. Eteng Jonah Williams for demonstrating statesmanship. May this unity translate into greater progress for Cross River State and the APC.
Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo
