Obudu Local Government Area witnessed a renewed wave of political enthusiasm as men, women, youths, community representatives, support groups and APC faithful rallied around the Evidence Campaign Group during its grassroots mobilisation tour. Following its successful engagement in Obanliku, the group brought its message of unity, political participation and collective responsibility to Obudu, with a call for sustained support for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and His Excellency, Governor Apostle Prince Bassey Edet Otu, alongside other APC candidates across the board. The gathering reflected the growing determination of participants to take an active role in shaping the political future of Cross River State and Nigeria.
The tour commenced with a courtesy visit to the Paramount Ruler of Obudu, Utsu Ukudari, in recognition of the traditional institution and its enduring contribution to peace, unity and cultural heritage. The Evidence-branded convoy subsequently proceeded to the Obudu Local Government Secretariat, where a diverse gathering of market women, youths, persons with disabilities, community stakeholders, political supporters and party faithful demonstrated their interest in the movement. Leading the delegation was Dr. Margaret Ugbe (Chelsy), Deputy Director of Evidence Campaign Group and a proud daughter of Obudu, whose participation underscored the importance of homegrown leadership and the active involvement of local people in grassroots political engagement.
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Evidence Campaign Group’s local government and ward executives by the Convener, Mr. Bassey Edem, marking another strategic step towards strengthening the group’s grassroots structures. The programme also featured presentations on the achievements of the APC, with emphasis on political awareness, unity and participation ahead of the forthcoming elections. From Obanliku to Obudu, Evidence Campaign Group continues to expand its reach, bringing together different segments of society under a shared vision of organised mobilisation, responsible advocacy and political engagement. The message from Obudu was clear: the people are determined to make their voices heard and participate actively in deciding the future leadership of Cross River State and Nigeria.
