It's crucial to recognize Dr. Betta Edu's consistent advocacy for good governance in Cross River State and across Nigeria. Her commendable achievements and unwavering dedication in her past role at the Ministry of Health and currently as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation serve as exemplary models.
The task of poverty alleviation in Nigeria is an arduous journey that demands time, dedication, and commitment. Dr. Betta Edu, being a young and driven individual, is striving to adapt to her role efficiently and explore avenues that can uplift the impoverished. Yet, baseless allegations and unproductive criticism only hinder her capacity to make a positive impact.
As responsible public figures, criticism isn't foreign to us; however, directing it constructively and through proper channels showcases maturity and wisdom.
It's essential for the public to allow relevant bodies, such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to investigate and pursue due process concerning any issues. Dr. Betta Edu is a representative of our community, and we must not allow misguided actions to tarnish the reputation of Cross River State, our identity, heritage, or political integrity. Her success will reflect positively on us, a value more precious than material wealth.
We should rally behind our own and refrain from hasty judgment. Notably, several former political officeholders, envious of her position, are resorting to underhanded tactics to undermine her.
Dr. Edu's ministry holds significant promise for our state's development. Therefore, addressing matters concerning her requires clarity and a deeper understanding.
