Spokesman to the Governor of Cross River State, is pleased to announce that His Excellency, Governor Prince Bassey Otu, has directed the immediate suspension of the task force involved in the recent enforcement operations following the Okada protests in Calabar. According to Pastor Bill, the decision once again demonstrates Governor Otu’s listening leadership and unwavering commitment to the peace, welfare, and well-being of every Cross Riverian. He stated that the Governor carefully listens to the concerns of the people and takes prompt action whenever necessary in the interest of justice, peace, and good governance.
Speaking during an interview at Government House, Calabar, Pastor Bill said the welfare of Cross Riverians remains Governor Prince Bassey Otu’s number one priority. He emphasized that Governor Otu treats the people of Cross River State like his own children and is determined to ensure that government policies are implemented with fairness, compassion, and respect for human dignity. He noted that the Governor’s “People First” campaign promise was never a mere slogan but a commitment that continues to be demonstrated through practical actions and responsive leadership aimed at improving the lives of the people.
Pastor Bill further stated that the People First administration will continue to respond to every genuine concern raised by citizens through positive action and responsible governance. He added that Governor Otu remains focused on delivering meaningful dividends of democracy across Cross River State and will continue to answer criticism through performance, development, and service to the people. He reaffirmed that the administration is committed to building a peaceful, prosperous, and united Cross River where the interests and welfare of the people will always come first.
