The youth of Obubra have declared their total support for His Excellency, Sir President Adekunel Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, during the Evidence Campaign Group’s tour of Obubra, citing development initiatives and opportunities expected to benefit their community. Speaking during the tour, the initiator of the Evidence Campaign Group, Hon. Edem Bassey Duke, appreciated Governor Otu for the Jonokpa Road project, describing it as an important infrastructural intervention that would improve transportation, ease the movement of people and goods, and support commercial activities. He commended the governor for extending road development to Obubra and noted the importance of infrastructure in promoting grassroots development and improving the lives of residents.
Also speaking during the media engagement, Comr. Dan Obo, Former National Youth Council Chairman of Crs, appreciated Sir Adekunel President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Bakassi Deep Seaport project. He described the project as a significant economic opportunity for Cross River State, with the potential to attract investment, create employment, boost maritime trade and stimulate commercial activities when completed and operational. He emphasised the importance of strategic infrastructure development to the state’s economic future and commended the Federal Government for the approval. The visit provided an opportunity for community members to highlight projects and initiatives they believe could contribute to the development of Obubra and Cross River State at large.
Another major highlight of the tour was the announcement of a ₦30 million scholarship initiative for students of Obubra by the Evidence Campaign Group, underscoring the importance of education and youth empowerment. The initiative is intended to support students and contribute to their academic advancement, with further details on beneficiaries and disbursement arrangements to be confirmed through the group’s official channels. The Evidence Campaign Group reiterated its commitment to community engagement and development, while the youth of Obubra expressed their support for President Tinubu and Governor Otu. The John Ukpa Road project, the Bakassi Deep Seaport approval and the ₦30 million scholarship initiative formed the central highlights of the tour.
