Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State, on Community Communications, expresses great joy and satisfaction as Cross Riverians from across the 18 Local Government Areas, alongside Nigerians from different parts of the country, converge on Cross River State to demonstrate their total solidarity and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the re-election of Governor Bassey Edet Otu. The historic political gathering at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, hosted by our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, witnessed an extraordinary mobilisation of party faithful and enthusiastic supporters. Speaking on the remarkable turnout, Pastor Bill Francis Bill stated that in his 12 years of political experience in Cross River State, he had never witnessed a crowd of such magnitude at any political campaign rally. He described the gathering as a remarkable demonstration of political solidarity, confidence and commitment to the APC family.
The event attracted an impressive assembly of prominent national and state political leaders, including His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio; former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Professor Ben Ayade; Senator Adams Oshiomhole; Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong; Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe; Senator Eteng Jones Williams; Chief Higgins Peters; Hon. George Oben-Etchi and Dr. Betta Edu. Also present were members of the Cross River State House of Assembly, commissioners, government officials, APC stakeholders, party leaders and other distinguished personalities from within and outside the state. Their presence further demonstrated the political importance of Cross River State and the unity of purpose among the APC family. Governor Otu, as the chief host, received the distinguished leaders and party faithful, showcasing the hospitality, political maturity and leadership spirit of Cross River State.
Pastor Bill Francis Bill further expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for their commitment to national infrastructure development, particularly the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, And Governor numerous Projects which holds enormous potential for transforming transportation, stimulating economic activities, promoting tourism and attracting investments across the coastal corridor. He also specially commended Governor Otu for his hospitality, political leadership and unwavering commitment to the People First philosophy, noting that the partnership between the Federal Government and Cross River State remains important to the state’s development aspirations. He maintained that Cross Riverians deserve leadership that prioritises their welfare, creates opportunities and delivers meaningful projects that improve everyday life. According to him, the impressive gathering at U.J. Esuene Stadium sends a strong message of political solidarity and renewed determination among APC supporters to stand behind President Tinubu, Governor Otu and the APC family. He encouraged party members, stakeholders and supporters to remain united, peaceful and committed to communicating the achievements of their leaders with facts and evidence rather than insults. He concluded that the future of Cross River State and Nigeria depends on responsible leadership, unity, continuity and collective commitment to progress.
