From the Desk of Data Boys Senior Chief Media Consultant, Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill, Calabar witnessed a colourful display of youth participation as over 350 members of the Data Boys Movement for Prince Otu, led by its National President, Hon. Evang. Orbon Abednego Okon, joined the Evidence Group in a massive solidarity walk through major streets of the city. The exercise attracted young people and supporters from different parts of Cross River State, with participants carrying banners and placards, accompanied by brass band music and energetic solidarity chants. The procession was organized in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC), while also providing a platform for young people to demonstrate their interest in political participation and civic engagement.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Evang. Orbon Abednego Okon, National President of the Data Boys Movement and Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure, Akamkpa LGA, described the group’s participation as strategic and timely. He explained that the Data Boys Movement and Evidence Group share a common interest in youth mobilization, meaningful political participation and good governance. According to him, the Evidence Group is creating a platform where young Cross Riverians can organize, interact and participate actively in political and civic activities. He further emphasized that the Data Boys Movement remains committed to using its data, voices, energy and digital platforms to promote issues it believes will contribute to greater youth participation and development in Cross River State.
The solidarity walk also brought together supporters from across the state’s 18 Local Government Areas, creating an avenue for interaction among different youth-oriented political groups and supporters. The gathering reflected the increasing political engagement of young people in Cross River as preparations and conversations surrounding the 2027 political season continue. Members of the Data Boys Movement reiterated their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the People First Agenda of Governor Bassey Edet Otu, while the Evidence Group used the occasion to strengthen its grassroots engagement and youth mobilization efforts across the state.
Meanwhile, the Data Boys Senior Chief Media Consultant, Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill, urged Cross Riverians, Nigerians and supporters of the APC family to continue giving attention to the leadership and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu, saying he sees a future in their respective political directions. Ambassador Pastor Biu also maintained that the APC still has significant work to do in Cross River State and therefore called for issues to be approached without unnecessary sentiment, prejudice or division. He appealed to Cross Riverians to support constructive political participation and remain focused on matters concerning the development and future of the state, while stressing that every political platform should continue engaging the people and working toward greater inclusion and progress.
