From the desk of Evidence Senior Chief Media Consultant Evidence Campaign Group Crs, Ambassador Pastor Pst Bill Francis Bill, comes a report on the unprecedented turnout recorded during the Evidence solidarity walk in support of His Excellency, Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu. The historic mobilisation was initiated by Hon. Edem Bassey, the Governor’s son, who led the gathering alongside other prominent dignitaries, including the Chief of Staff, Hon. Loyalty Reliable Emmanuel Ironbar, and the Cross River APC Chairman, Hon. Christopher E.t.c. Speaking with the media after witnessing the massive crowd, Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill said he had never seen anything comparable in the history of campaign groups in Cross River State or, in his view, anywhere in Nigeria. He stated that what was initially projected as a one-million-man walk transformed into an extraordinary gathering that he estimated to have exceeded two million people from different walks of life.
Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill said the unprecedented turnout demonstrated the enormous mobilisation capacity of the Evidence Campaign Group and the enthusiasm of supporters who came out to identify with Governor Otu and his administration. He particularly commended Hon. Edem Bassey, the initiator of the movement, as well as the dignitaries and supporters who contributed to the successful mobilisation. According to him, the people’s decision to come out in such large numbers reflects their desire to publicly express their support for the programmes and projects of the administration and to participate actively in the political process ahead of 2027.
The Evidence Senior Chief Media Consultant further stated that the massive gathering also conveyed a strong political message as supporters expressed their backing for Thier Excellencies Sir President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Prince Otu ahead of the 2027 elections. He said the crowd represented what he described as a powerful demonstration of grassroots support and urged members and supporters of the Evidence Campaign Group to remain peaceful, united and organised. “I have never witnessed this kind of crowd in the history of any campaign group in Cross River State or Nigeria. What we thought would be a one-million-man walk became a gathering of over two million people. The message has been sent,” Ambassador Pastor P. Francis Bill stated.
