Mike Etaba, Member representing Etung/Obubra Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Environment, celebrates a distinguished, hardworking and active representative of the people on the occasion of his birthday. Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba has continued to demonstrate commitment to his constituents through representation, empowerment and opportunities for his people. When a man gives you a federal job, automatically, he has empowered not only you but your entire family, because one federal opportunity can bring stability to a household, put food on the table, support education and create hope for the future. His continued efforts to empower his people, including his tradition of being there for them every December through empowerment initiatives, deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated.
During an interview with the media in Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba’s office in Abuja, the Senior Chief Advocate, Ambassador Pastor Bill Francis Bill, recalled a personal experience that has remained unforgettable. There was a time I travelled to Abuja for the first time to pursue my car business, and after arriving in the Federal Capital Territory, I put a call across to Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba and informed him that I was in Abuja. He gave me access to the National Assembly, and that gesture became very meaningful to me because Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba was the first person who gave me access to the National Assembly. I will never forget that experience because gratitude is always my attitude. It is important to acknowledge those who have opened doors for you, and that is why, during the interview in his office, I chose to publicly appreciate him for that memorable act of support. I also acknowledge his support and contributions during the administration of His Excellency Governor Prince Ambrose, alongside his continued support for his people and his efforts to create opportunities for constituents.
Today, I celebrate Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba not merely because it is his birthday, but because of the opportunities and empowerment associated with his representation. Federal jobs and other opportunities are not just positions on paper; for many people, they represent a new beginning, economic stability and hope for an entire family. His accessibility, legislative responsibilities, support for his constituents and commitment to empowerment have made his birthday an occasion worthy of recognition.
