National Association of Ogoja Students Worldwide Engages Deputy Governor, Secures Support for Educational Initiatives
In a remarkable display of dedication to community development and educational advancement, the National Association of Ogoja Students Worldwide paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Rt Hon Peter Odey, the Deputy Governor of Cross River state on December 18, 2023.
During the visit, the association, representing Ogoja students globally, presented a comprehensive brochure showcasing their impactful projects spanning the Ogoja local government. This served as tangible evidence of their unwavering commitment to the betterment of their community.
His Excellency took the opportunity to impart words of wisdom to the students, emphasizing the paramount importance of prioritizing their studies. In a stern tone, he urged them to steer clear of cultism, underlining the government's readiness to support their endeavors.
Expressing gratitude that the association has endured beyond his own student days, the Deputy Governor acknowledged the pivotal role the students play in shaping the future of Ogoja. He affirmed, "We are building the next generation – the people who will change the narrative in Ogoja. Keep the focus."
Amidst the discussions, the student president, Comrade Nathaniel Molang, earnestly appealed for financial support. Recognizing the importance of their request, His Excellency swiftly approved a substantial sum of 500,000 Naira. This financial assistance is earmarked for the upcoming student elections and the timely completion of pending projects initiated by the association.
